Tales to be told

WINTER SOLSTICE 2001

by Wayne Phillips.

Battle training for the war was excellent. The bridge was held the attackers dying in great numbers. The first ambush failed, pole weapons winning. On the open field the company was surrounded and died, but won when attacked head on by keeping a tight formation, and though the good work of the pole weapons and shields.

- Warrior of the Day was Nic, who survived to the bitter end.

- Most Armored was Carl.

- Most Bruised was Rob of the Ravens.

The Banquet was excellent. Food too much too choose from and plenty for seconds. Music by the Harpist Robin and friends was enchanting. Fire juggler Jimmy was too good for most of us, even though he had partaken in the mulled wine. The first four liters just disappeared once it was found.

There was dancing, singing, games, and brazier burning out side for those that like to see the stars and talk of the past campaigns.

Thanks to everyone who made it a great day.

RAVENS TRAINING DAY

Training battle was excellent. A good feast was enjoyed by all. It was a time to catch up with friends, discuss the day's battles, the forthcoming war and drink, drink, drink (after all it is very important to re-hydrate after battling) to many more good battles.

What was it the lord said to the king, " Jolly good battle today very light casualties, only four knights and a few foot soldiers" A "few" usually meant one or two hundred.

Some of us headed back that night through the rain, while others stayed on to Sunday to take part in the Ravens in a fun day display for Nancy at Tatum Park, which included singers, dances, pipe bands, hot rods and others.
